Last week Rep. David Lewis announced that House Elections would be meeting again this week to take up new legislation during the waning days of the legislative short session. For months, Lewis and others have threatened to revive some of the worst parts of the 2013 Monster Voting Law. Many believe a voter ID constitutional amendment could emerge soon.

We’ve got to do our part to stop it.

Join us next week at the N.C. General Assembly on Tuesday, June 5, for a “Fair Courts, Fair Votes Day of Action,” in Raleigh, as we demand our lawmakers stop their schemes against voters.

Beginning at 2 p.m., we’ll assemble across from the General Assembly on Bicentennial Plaza (1 E. Edenton St, Raleigh) to hear about what this and other attacks on our democracy really mean, and how we can take action to fight back. After our rally, we’ll turn that energy into action, heading inside the legislature to find out where our lawmakers stand on voting access and more!

Sponsored by Democracy North Carolina, NAACP of North Carolina, North Carolina Voters for Clean Elections, and Progress NC, this June 5th “Day of Action” is part of a “Month of Action” — May 18 through June 18 — all to educate voters about these brazen proposals and what you can do to help.

See you on June 5,
