A letter from Progress NC, Action. It matters.
David,

In early June the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously ruled that North Carolina’s Republican-controlled legislature relied on racial gerrymandering when drawing the state’s congressional districts. The politicians in Raleigh packed as many African-American voters into as few districts as possible to dilute their voice and power. It is shameful AND HAS STILL NOT BEEN CORRECTED!

Sign our petition to demand fairly drawn maps that better represent NC voters. Democracy is at stake. Legislators should not be picking their constituents; voters should be picking their legislators.

After months of doing nothing, today the NCGA showed us that they are going to use the same old tactics to redraw the maps by using the same people who drew the last ones. When asked if they would continue with a plan of political gerrymandering to ensure that the Republican super-majority would stay intact they evaded the question.

It is up to you to tell the NCGA that North Carolina demands fair redistricting.  Every vote should count in our democracy and with the tactics used so far North Carolina Republicans want to make sure that only their voices matter.

Sign our petition to demand fairly drawn maps that better represent NC voters. Democracy is at stake. Legislators should not be picking their constituents; voters should be picking their legislators.

Thanks,
