Republicans Mocked and Punished California Voters; Now They Are Facing a True Wave Election

You can do a lot to voters, but there is a limit to how much even invested social conservatives will put up with. The national party and their own Republican representatives are now actively harming their pocketbooks, and that is the one thing that will invoke a bit of self-reflection in an otherwise reliable party-line voter.

CHARTS: See How Much Of GOP Tax Cuts Will Go To The Middle Class

The Republican tax bill, which Congress sent to President Trump on Wednesday, would give most Americans a tax cut next year, according to a new analysis. However, it would by far benefit the richest Americans the most. Meanwhile, many lower- and middle-class Americans would have higher taxes a decade from now … unless a future Congress extends the cuts.

America, you’ve just called up the Kansas tax scheme to the big leagues. Here’s how to talk about it

The government will just go further in debt, and the US will sell more and more of our bond, mortgage, and consumer debt to foreign entities.

The government will immediately need to move to cut services, often those that help the poor first. Unlike Kansas, which figured in roughly $2B in “Dynamic Scoring” (and missed by about $1.9B) , we’re going to try and dynamic score more than a trillion.

Any idea how this turns out before we stop looking for the ship to come in?

Why Republicans shouldn’t be so optimistic their tax bill will be a big win

Republicans are optimistic. Why? Perhaps because most Americans are getting a tax cut under this plan, and if growth gets even hotter and unemployment gets even lower by Election Day, voters could reward the GOP, at least in the short term. There are good reasons to doubt GOP optimism that the tax bill will turbocharge the economy (at least beyond 2018 and maybe 2019). First, the bill is unlikely to generate sustained 3 percent growth, let alone 4 percent. Second, it’s likely to make inequality worse. Third, it drives up the debt, costing $1 trillion or more.

Experts are starting to find massive errors in the GOP tax bill after it went through Congress at lightning speed

Presented in the hopes that the readers will PAY ATTENTION and be as disturbed as I about the implications of this bill. Please call, Tweet, FAX or email your representatives to stop this in its tracks until they can repair the errors- including repealing the Mandate; the trillion and a half dollar deficit; the robbery of middle and low income people in deference to the wealthy; the cuts to Social Security and Medicare that Paul Ryan is promising will be coming; the Republican pitch that those cuts are the only way to generate needed revenue after cutting taxes for the wealthy almost into oblivion.

The annual spring plant sale by the Transylvania Master Gardeners, The Transylvania Garden Club, The French Broad Garden Club and the Heritage Museum will be held Saturday, April 28, from 8 a.m. until noon at the Brevard Ingles parking lot on Asheville Highway. This will be the second year in this location and it allows very easy access and plenty of parking for customers.

Come early for the best selection from a large variety of high quality, locally raised perennials, annuals, vegetables, trees and shrubs. Local gardeners also will be on hand to offer advice.

The plant sale takes place rain or shine. Admission is free.

For more information, contact the Transylvania County Extension office, (828) 884-3109 or mmickew@ncsu.edu.
