Why Republicans shouldn’t be so optimistic their tax bill will be a big win

Republicans are optimistic. Why? Perhaps because most Americans are getting a tax cut under this plan, and if growth gets even hotter and unemployment gets even lower by Election Day, voters could reward the GOP, at least in the short term. There are good reasons to doubt GOP optimism that the tax bill will turbocharge the economy (at least beyond 2018 and maybe 2019). First, the bill is unlikely to generate sustained 3 percent growth, let alone 4 percent. Second, it's likely to make inequality worse. Third, it drives up the debt, costing $1 trillion or more.

Maps drawn to fix NC gerrymandering would help Democrats in these districts

The maps proposed by a third-party expert would make it easier for Democrats to defeat Republican incumbents in four House races and two Senate races, based on an analysis of 2016 election results in the proposed districts. In the 2017–2018 session, the Republican Party holds a 75–45 majority over the Democratic Party in the House, a 35-15 majority in the Senate. Will this map restore fair voting?

Experts are starting to find massive errors in the GOP tax bill after it went through Congress at lightning speed

Presented in the hopes that the readers will PAY ATTENTION and be as disturbed as I about the implications of this bill. Please call, Tweet, FAX or email your representatives to stop this in its tracks until they can repair the errors- including repealing the Mandate; the trillion and a half dollar deficit; the robbery of middle and low income people in deference to the wealthy; the cuts to Social Security and Medicare that Paul Ryan is promising will be coming; the Republican pitch that those cuts are the only way to generate needed revenue after cutting taxes for the wealthy almost into oblivion.

    Received from Indivisible WNC

We will be joining other Indivisible groups in WNC tomorrow at 5:00 at Vance Monument to rally and protest the tax bill.  We are putting together speakers and want to have as large a presence as possible.

Please join us tomorrow.  Bring signs, voices, people.  I will be handing out necklaces showing how many people will lose healthcare and how much $$$ the rich will be receiving.
Will post on Facebook also.  CARPOOL IF YOU CAN.
There will also be a rally on Tuesday in Hickory and a meeting at McHenry’s office on Wednesday.  Let me know if you wish to be involved with those efforts and I will forward you the information once I receive it.
Thanks for your efforts.  We must resist. We can’t stand by quietly and let them hurt our fellow Americans

We are setting up a hospitality suite of sorts and will model zero waste and encourage folks to slow down and sit with us for awhile. This is space for us to just meet people and open our hearts and minds.

We have reserved the gazebo through the county and are ready to go!

Join us and sit a spell.
